BNX Authenticated Sign-On 5.5 introduces new and exciting enhancements to BNX’s flagship identity and access management solution. These new enhancements are focused on speeding up deployment and reducing the management burden while maintaining the robustness, flexibility, and security that BNX Authenticated Sign-On is known for.
The current BNX Adapter Builder
is a wizard-driven tool for creating adapters to enable web, Windows, and
terminal applications for enterprise single sign-on (E-SSO). The Adapter Builder is a powerful tool
with unparalleled features and
capabilities
that make it the most robust on the market; and now we’ve made it easier to use
with Express Mode.
BNX Authenticated Sign-On 5.5’s new Express Mode for the Adapter Builder simplifies adapter building for typical Web and Windows applications. Using the express mode, administrators can build E‑SSO adapters in just a few clicks – enabling them to create adapters for any application with little time investment.
The popular robust features of the current Adapter Builder have been preserved, simplified and are now using the improved and simplified Advanced Mode.
Note: The Adapter Builder is always installed with BNX Administration software. It is also a distinct installation option and can be installed separately from all other BNX components. This offers numerous advantages. First, it allows BNX administrators to minimize their installation footprint. An administrator may need to create adapters on multiple machines, but only use a single machine for administration. Second, it allows non-administrators to create adapters without implicit administrative privilege, allowing a team to delegate various adapter creation responsibilities away from the administrator. For example, an end user could be assigned responsibility for creating basic web adapters for logging into simple intranet pages. Another user could specialize in creating complex adapters for legacy console applications, and so on. Such adapters cannot be deployed in the BNX system prior to being cleared and applied by the administrator, so the administrator still retains ultimate control of the process.
One of the most time-consuming aspects of enterprise single sign-on (E-SSO), especially during the initial deployment phase, is the manual process of inputting all usernames for the E-SSO enabled applications into the system, traditionally performed by the administrator.

BNX Authenticated Sign-On 5.5 gives administrators the option to allow users to input these credentials themselves the first time they use the E-SSO enabled application. If this feature is enabled, users are prompted to save their username and password for each of the E-SSO enabled applications the first time the application is launched. Additionally, users can manage their credentials locally through a new tool in the BNX Client called Credential Manager.
In addition to the above features, BNX Authenticated Sign-On provides built-in driver support for fingerprint devices that utilize the Authentec 3400/3500 sensors such as the APC Biopod and the Fellowes Secure Touch Optical Mouse. Previously, the drivers for such devices had to be downloaded and installed manually. BNX has also added support for iKey and Authentec server-side matching (SSM) devices in Citrix environments.

Adapter Builder Advanced

When creating a Terminal Emulator (TE)
adapter (or any adapter with a TE substate), you cannot use multi-process
match. In these situations, we will attempt to match states with any open
process. With TE, that means sending keystrokes to get the screen onto the
clipboard. This could result in unexpected behavior for applications not
expecting such keystroke combinations. Using a new process match works,
but the appropriate application must be defined in the secondary
executables list. |
